Great news from the QuantiFarm project: Recently, on August 27th, our partners Agricultural and forest Institute Murska Sobota (KGZS- MS) and the Digital Innovation Hub Agrifood (DIH Agrifood) participated actively in the International Fair of Agriculture and Food (AGRA Fair 2024), in Slovenia!
Testing DATSs during the AGRA Fair 2024
In the framework of the AGRA fair, an interactive workshop was held with the Slovenian DEMO farms that are participating in QuantiFarm, where farmers had the opportunity to test the advanced Farm Manager tool to support decision-making in agricultural production. During the workshop, organised by the Agricultural and forest Institute Murska Sobota (KGZS-MS) and the Digital Innovation Hub Agrifood (DIH Agrifood), the farms were registered on the My Applications platform, and they were granted access rights to the Fieldbook and My Farm applications. This step marks a significant milestone in the data collection process, as the DEMO farms will now be able to continuously monitor and record all activities carried out on their farms, facilitating more accurate and efficient annual data collection for reporting within the QuantiFarm project.
It is particularly worth highlighting that two farms, in addition to other tools, are also using Farm Manager. With the support of agricultural advisors, they will gain a detailed insight into the economics of crop production, enabling a better understanding of cost and production factors and contributing to the optimization of agricultural practices.
A few words about AGRA Fair
Taking place annually in Gornja Radgona, near the border with Austria, AGRA Fair is the largest agricultural and food fair in the country and one of the most important in Southeastern Europe. The international fair is dedicated to showcasing the latest trends, technologies, and products in agriculture, the food industry, forestry, viticulture, livestock farming, and related sectors. Gathering numerous domestic and international companies, farmers, food producers, and suppliers of agricultural machinery, AGRA Fair also features professional seminars, workshops, exhibitions of domestic animals, tastings of local and international culinary specialties, and many other activities. The AGRA Fair is an important event for professionals as well as the general public, facilitating connections between producers and consumers, and promoting sustainable agriculture and healthy eating.
