Empowering Precision Irrigation: Highlights from the QuantiFarm Demo Event in Portugal
On 28 May, our partner AGROMAIS, leading the QuantiFarm Test Case on precision irrigation in corn production, hosted a compelling demo event at Quinta da Cholda, Portugal. The day brought together approximately 30 stakeholders—farmers, advisors, technology experts—and included a cross-visit by Spanish partners, further promoting cross-border collaboration.

QuantiFarm & Toolkit introduction
Attendees received an in-depth presentation of the QuantiFarm project and its Toolkit—a suite of user-friendly digital tools designed to inform cost-benefit and sustainability assessments of agricultural technologies.
HIDROSOPH’s Irristrat DATS demonstration
A focused session featured the Irristrat Decision Support Tool, one of the project’s Digital Agriculture Technology Solutions (DATSs), presented by HIDROSOPH. This platform aids irrigation management through real-time data analysis and responsive strategy recommendations.
Practical Field Insights - Live cornfield demonstration
Host farmer João Coimbra took center stage on the field, showcasing precision irrigation practices in action. Participants witnessed firsthand how digital data enhances irrigation efficiency and crop performance.
Facilitating Knowledge Exchange
Cross-border learning
Spanish project partners, ITACyL and ANYSOLUTION, joined the demonstration, sharing insights and best practices. This cross-visit strengthened regional knowledge networks, enabling advisors and farmers to exchange experiences across contexts.
