Empowering Agricultural Advisors through Specialised Training on the Farm Manager Tool

Time for a special announcement: The upcoming January and February, the Economics Group of the Slovenian Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry (KGZS), is gearing up for an engaging series of educational sessions and training programs tailored for agricultural advisors from all eight regional institutes! Collaborating with a team of experts, our project partner KGZS has formulated an ambitious plan, with a specific focus on fundamental agricultural economics and the effective utilization of the Farm Manager tool.

A brief overview of the Farm Manager Tool

Farm Manager serves as a robust model for agricultural holdings and associated databases, dedicated to facilitating decision-making processes. Empowering agricultural professionals, this platform enables the creation of extensive farm production plans by incorporating diverse farming methods, technologies, and approaches. Originating from the Farm Management Planning Calculation Catalogue developed by Slovenian Public Advisory experts, Farm Manager has transformed into a data-driven tool. It supports detailed planning and business modeling across various aspects of crop and animal husbandry in agricultural production. This adaptable platform plays a pivotal role in advising farms on matters such as production redirection, business modeling, planning, and data aggregation. With its modular approach, users can opt for a single module or combine multiple modules to conduct a comprehensive analysis tailored to specific aspects or the entirety of a farm.

Farm Manager within QuantiFarm

The calculations within Farm Manager rely on model data. Within the framework of the QuantiFarm project, farmers from the Alpine region will actively contribute with real-time data from crop production (corn, wheat, barley). This initiative aims to validate, upgrade, and enhance the tool, and, ultimately enabling economic advice and decision support based on actual farm data. The goal is to better address the practical needs of farmers and elevate the effectiveness of agricultural advisory services.

The QuantiFarm team is looking forward to this initiative and its results! Tune in for more updates in the coming months!
